Emergency Management and Resources

Collegial Colleagues

“When I moved from Saskatoon to Kamloops in 2014, I was very happy I chose to set up my family practice in a building with 10 other doctors. This is fantastic when you want to discuss a case or check about resources in the community. It’s particularly useful when you’re new in a community and new to the province. The clinic has a very collegial atmosphere. We share some laughs together, and also do small group education together.

If you want a practice that is doing more sports medicine, looking after younger adults, or doing obstetrics, those opportunities are definitely available here.

In practice, I appreciate BC’s Pathways referral platform, which simplifies patient referrals to the most appropriate specialists.”

Variety Is Key

“We stay here in Kamloops because, as a family practitioner, you can do a variety of practices.

You can do whatever you want to do. The world is your oyster. And the winters aren’t terrible!”

Building Bonds

“Acting as someone’s personal Family Physician is a privilege and offers rewards that are difficult to describe.

The relationships we build, and bonds we form, with our patients and their families are special and unparalleled in the medical profession and indeed often in society at large.

We take pride in being a steady, supportive presence to assist our patients with their health care needs as they transition through their life trajectories.”

Time For It All

“Everyone wants a healthy work-life balance, but that can be easier said than done. Kamloops struck the right note for our family. The city is small enough to have an intimate, family-friendly vibe in the community, and large enough to offer us all four-season recreation and organized team pursuits.”
